A Santa Monica beach incident that resulted in brutal attacks on three women, including a teenage girl and an elderly woman, has led to serious charges against Jawann Garnett, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.

Garnett, accused of the attempted murders of a 17-year-old and a 72-year-old, and the assault of a 25-year-old woman who courageously intervened during the initial assault, will face a series of charges that reflect the heinous nature of the crime amidst the sand and waves, where such violence is all the more shocking, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón stated the victims "endured incredible pain and suffering" he said, "and our hearts go out to them during this incredibly difficult" time he added; that his office is committed to supporting the victims through their recovery. Garnett's charges include counts of attempted murder, child abuse, assault with intent to produce great bodily injury, assault with intent to commit a forcible sexual assault, and kidnapping, as per the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.

Following the events that unfolded on June 24, bail for Garnett has been set at $2,230,000 with the potential of a life sentence in state prison if convicted, the arraignment was scheduled for June 28 in the Airport Courthouse, justice for the victims is being pursued with diligence to hold the offender accountable for these crimes.
