The incident, involving a silver Ford Mustang, took place in a residential area on the 7500 block of Whisperwillow Drive at around 5:50 p.m., as confirmed by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.

According to authorities, an argument erupted within the vehicle which escalated once the occupants exited onto the street. Neighbors witnessed the dispute's progression to violence, and approximately half a dozen shots were fired, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office deputy on scene, informed a KCRA 3 crew. The event culminated with the injured man being discovered with multiple gunshot wounds.

The silver Ford Mustang reportedly fled the area following the shooting, while another individual was seen running from the vicinity. In a statement given to KCRA, the deputy clarified that neither the car nor the victim were recognized by local residents.
