A man was fatally shot by a masked gunman in Southwest Philadelphia during the early hours of Wednesday. According to 6abc, the 38-year-old victim, whose name has not yet been made public, was found critically injured around 2 a.m. outside a residence near the intersection of 59th Street and Chester Avenue. He later succumbed to his wounds at a hospital.

The deadly encounter unfolded while the man was standing alongside a woman, who told police that the assailant, concealed with a ski mask, approached and fired multiple shots.
