The incident occurred on Highway 111 when a man approached a bank teller, demanding money without showing a weapon or intimating he was armed, he then fled the scene with an undisclosed sum. The suspect was described as a white male between 50 and 60 years of age.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies, dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:00 P.M., immediately initiated a search but were unable to locate the suspect after he made off on foot in an unknown direction the suspect. With a physical description that highlights him as approximately 5’10" to 6’0" tall and weighing between 150 to 175 pounds, the man was last seen wearing a green baseball-style hat, dark-framed prescription glasses, a light green t-shirt, and denim jeans. This is an ongoing investigation, and anyone with information is urged to come forward.

The situation has prompted the Sheriff’s Office to appeal to the public for assistance, asking that anyone with information about the suspect or his whereabouts to contact Investigator Mitroff at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station by calling 760–836–1600 or by submitting a tip online through the Crime Tips Online Form.
