The fire, which was first reported around 4 a.m. near West Thompson Place and South General McMullen Drive, prompted a robust response from nearly 20 fire units, according to KENS 5.

The flames, having taken hold in a blue commercial structure, required over an hour for firefighters to extinguish, during which crews unleashed a deck gun and a ladder-hose in efforts that were initially met with heavy fire billowing out through the roof, while fortunately there was an apartment complex nearby was left unscathed, the fire officials assured the building was vacant and no injuries were reported; an investigation into the fire's origin remains underway, as stated by FOX San Antonio.

As for the damages, they are considerable—the commercial property sustained losses exceeding $100,000. Despite the early hour, the event did not result in any reported injuries, and officials confirmed the building was unoccupied at the time the fire commenced.
