Tragedy struck on a San Antonio roadway Tuesday night when what began as a shooting escalated into a fatal car crash, leaving three dead and one injured. The couple in the vehicle, Ariel Martinez, 27, and Jonathan Medrano, 31, were attacked by an unidentified assailant, resulting in gunfire that fatally wounded both of them. As reported by FOX San Antonio, the couple's vehicle careened off the road after they were hit and plummeted into a ditch.

According to details released by the local authorities, the victims' car struck two homeless individuals who were sitting on steps by an embankment. This collision resulted in the death of the unidentified male and left the female with minor injuries. As described in a News 4 San Antonio report, the man was found pinned and crushed under the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident unfolded near West Martin Street and Northwest 24th Street, just before 11:30 p.m. Evidence from the horrific scene indicated that the vehicle had numerous bullet holes on both sides. Medrano, who sustained critical injuries, was hurried by a private vehicle to an urgent care facility, only to later succumb to his wounds as News 4 San Antonio stated in their coverage.
