A routine afternoon on San Antonio's far East side rapidly devolved into a crisis situation, with shots fired at an apartment complex along North Foster Road and a resultant lockdown at nearby St. Phillip's College. According to FOX San Antonio, a man was assailed by gunfire whilst within his vehicle, sustaining multiple wounds that have since landed him in critical condition at a hospital. The gunfire prompted a swift response from authorities, leading to the temporary lockdown of the adjacent campus and the blocking of streets in the vicinity.

The situation prompted a methodical search by police, culminating in a raid on a Dakota Street home near the South Walters on the east side. In total, the San Antonio Police Department detained eight individuals from within the residence, as reported by FOX San Antonio. The exact nature of what was uncovered inside the domicile remains undivulged as the aftermath of the incident continues to unfold.

For students and faculty at St. Phillip's College, the series of events led to an abrupt disruption of their evening activities. The college's MLK Campus was secured under a partial lockdown, while the district's website admonished campus goers to avoid the area around Walters Street. 

The police maintained a conspicuous presence, with armed officers from both the Alamo Colleges Police Department and the San Antonio Police Department engaged in the surrounding areas of the campus. Officials lifted the lockdown shortly after they ensured the safety of students and faculty. The campus was cleared last night and the lockdown is no longer in effect as normalcy begins to return to the troubled district.
