Santa Rosa Man Arrested with Ghost Gun and Drugs During Traffic Stop by Police Special Enforcement TeamSource: Santa Rosa Police Department

During a routine patrol on Friday night, Santa Rosa Police Special Enforcement Team officers made a significant discovery after stopping a cyclist for a traffic violation on Cleveland Avenue. According to the Santa Rosa Police Department's Facebook page, during the inspection, officers found Duston Voorhes, a 40-year-old local resident, in possession of various illegal weapons and narcotics.

Upon a pat-down, the officers uncovered a concealed knife and metal knuckles, including a metal knuckle/knife combination. Having contact with the pedestrian, a loaded "ghost gun" was found—a 9-mm Poly-80 with six rounds in the magazine—alongside an unregistered .22 caliber revolver. The search also turned up a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, a scale, and packaging materials.

The confiscated firearms raise significant concerns, as they include a "ghost gun," which lacks serial numbers and is difficult to trace. Voorhes was booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility, facing several felony and misdemeanor charges. The charges encompass firearm possession by a felon, possession of loaded, unregistered, and concealed firearms, concealed weapons violations, and multiple drug-related offenses.

Focused on the city's rise in gun violence and illegal firearm possession, the Santa Rosa Police Department's Special Enforcement Team is at the forefront of these efforts. "The Santa Rosa Police Department is committed to making the City of Santa Rosa a safe place to live, work, and play,"  their Facebook post concludes.
