In a sizable crackdown on drug activity in Hernando County, law enforcement agencies have joined forces to carry out a trifecta of search warrants that resulted in seven individuals being taken into custody. The series of arrests unfolded yesterday, June 21, following a diligent few months of investigative work.

The coordinated operation saw prominent contributions from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit, Citrus County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, Pasco Sheriff’s Office Unmanned Systems Team, and the HCSO SWAT Team. The involved parties moved decisively to execute three simultaneous residential search warrants, a move designed to disrupt not only to break up illegal drug activities but also to seize unlawful firearms.

According to details released by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, the first location at 8401 Weeping Willow St., Brooksville brought under custody Robyn De Matteo, Brandon Nelson, and Stephen Green. Charges against these individuals include trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The second dwelling at 12432 Harrison St., faced a similar fate as Timothy Hunt and Ashley Cheek were apprehended. The array of charges they face include possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen firearm, along with various drug-related offenses. Authorities reportedly seized as many as seven firearms from this address, one of which was identified as stolen out of Georgia.

Finally, at the address 13223 Star Road, Gary Sharp and Tasha Williams were taken in on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia. Sheriff Al Nienhuis lauded the collaborative efforts in a statement, remarking, “These operations exemplify the importance of inter-agency cooperation in tackling drug-related crimes. We are committed to continuing our efforts to eradicate illegal drug activities in Hernando County,” as per Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
