A Spring Hill woman has been charged with four counts of arson after a string of fires at Bridgewater Club Apartments, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office. Between June 10 and June 22, deputies investigated several incidents, including two vehicle fires and property damage linked by proximity to Building 8.

The series of crimes began on June 10 when a man reported his vehicle's windshield had been damaged. Upon inspection, deputies found evidence of fire. The same victim later discovered, on June 17, a smashed rear window and burn marks inside his car, as well as damage to the apartment building itself. Additionally, a derogatory word was written across a female neighbor's apartment door. On June 22, the male victim managed to capture surveillance footage of a suspect attempting to set another blaze in the same location.

The suspect in the surveillance video was identified as Liszette Ortiz-Rosado, born September 5, 2001. The link between Ortiz-Rosado and the victim was clarified when, according to information released by the Sheriff's Office, a co-worker of the male victim indicated that Ortiz-Rosado believed her acquaintance was involved romantically with the female whose door had been defaced.

Upon questioning on June 26, Ortiz-Rosado denied all allegations of arson. She claimed that the figure in the video was indeed her, but she was "bending over to help a lizard not starting a fire." The deputies reported that Ortiz-Rosado then began to make repeated irrational statements. She was arrested and charged with two counts of Arson of a Dwelling and two counts of Arson of a Vehicle, with bond set at $50,000.
