In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Stockton police arrested Robert Meyer Sr. and Sareya Sexton, both 23, following the death of their one-month-old infant whose body bore the harrowing signs of abuse. According to ABC10, the Stockton Police Department was summoned to a local hospital at approximately 2:21 a.m., where the child was pronounced dead.

The couple's residence subsequently became the scene of investigation, where Meyer and Sexton were interviewed. After the dialogue with detectives, the two were booked on suspicion of homicide and felony child abuse charges, as reported by CBS Sacramento. Their incarceration behind at the San Joaquin County Jail, a detention that marks the beginning of a judicial process that will, in time, bring more questions than answers to the surface.
