Houston's battle with credit card abuse saw a new chapter unfold at the Houston Premium Outlet Mall, where a suspicious purchase attempt led to the arrest of Darnell Walker. On June 24, deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to a call at the outlet, located at 29300 block of the Northwest Freeway, after Walker attempted to use a stolen credit card to procure high-priced items.

Walker's run-in with the law escalated when he was apprehended by deputies at the Versace store, as he tried to drop over $800 on two shirts, his situation was complicated by previous charges which include Credit Card Abuse, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, and Evading Arrest. The sales were originally denied at other stores after he failed to provide identification, signaling a red flag that ultimately led to his detention.

Constable Mark Herman's Facebook page remarking, "Darnell Walker was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Credit Card Abuse. His bond was set at $5,000.00 out of the 263rd District Court.”
