Austin Police Department's (APD) SWAT team was deployed Friday morning to the 1100 block of Ash Cove, located in northeast Austin, in response to a situation involving a barricaded man. According to KXAN, the man believed to be around 50 years old, is presently barricaded alone with no hostages inside. People have been asked to steer clear of the vicinity for their safety.
APD Patrol and SWAT officers are currently working a call with a barricaded subject in the 1100 block of Ash Cove. This is an active scene and updates will be provided as they become available, please avoid the area.

The APD made it known at approximately 7:40 a.m. that its SWAT team was actively engaged, trying to resolve the situation, as detailed by KVUE. Police have not shared any specific details about why the man has chosen to barricade himself, nor about his identity.
