A high-speed chase in Vallejo ended in the arrest of a minor last Wednesday when local authorities uncovered a loaded and unregistered firearm. According to a post by the Vallejo Police Department's Facebook page, the incident began near Tennessee Street and Colusa Street, where a patrol officer noticed a 2017 Honda Accord speeding and gave pursuit. The chase led around several blocks before the driver, later identified as a minor, allegedly tossed a firearm from the vehicle's window on Indiana Street.

The report further details that once the car slowed and pulled over on Illinois Street, the cover officer was stationed with the driver while another officer searched for the discarded gun. The officer didn't take long to locate it on the 400 block of Indiana Street, and it was found to be loaded. An ensuing check established that the driver was underage, leading to their detention and transport to the Solano County Juvenile Detention Facility. The minor's parents were notified of their child's arrest, and the firearm was subsequently booked into evidence. The vehicle was towed away from the scene.
