In a brazen daylight display of recklessness, two men were arrested in Vallejo after one of them was seen pointing a gun from a sunroof at another moving car, the Vallejo Police Department reported. The incident, which unfolded on June 1 near Sonoma Blvd. and Florida St., saw a high-speed 2016 Mercedes-Benz C 300 come to the attention of patrolling officers, who then witnessed the dangerous act and took swift action to apprehend the individuals involved.

The Vallejo Police Department stated that upon catching up with the Mercedes-Benz, officers executed a felony traffic stop after activating their emergency lights and siren, detaining the two adult males inside the vehicle. During the search, officers discovered three loaded firearms, leading to the arrest of both occupants on multiple charges, including carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, carrying a loaded firearm, and reckless driving. The Mercedes was also towed, and the firearms were seized as evidence.

The swiftness of the arresting officers possibly averted what could have resulted in a tragic outcome, the kind of violent encounter that poses unimaginable risks not only to the individuals embroiled in such dire confrontations but to innocent bystanders who find themselves in the path of such heedlessness.
