So far in the series, we've met bear-like Bodie, Iggy the pug, Coco the rat terrier, Carter the pit mix, and Miles and LolaWe continue our coverage of the Upper Haight's finest canines with Fletcher, or "Fletch", a five-year-old purebred German Shepherd. 

While he "came of age" in Lincoln, Montana, he's called San Francisco home for the past four years. An avid player of fetch, he prefers the Upper Haight to his previous apartment in Hayes Valley due to its proximity to the Panhandle.

Fletch generally ignores people, but he loves his fellow canines. One of his favorite pastimes is to chase other dogs while they play fetch. "It's all about the other dog," he said during an interview. "I could care less about the ball or stick they're chasing. Woof!"

Despite his love of the outdoors, he makes a terrible running companion, usually getting bored after the first half mile.
