We the Minis Cupcakery
412 22nd St.
If cupcakes are what you're craving, look no further than this cute cakery, which puts out mini-sized treats in flavors like Hella Nutella and double chocolate birthday cake. Matcha snickerdoodles and salted caramel chocolate chip cookies are also part of the lineup. They'll also deliver custom cupcake designs for special events, provided you order in advance.
This San Francisco creamery has now established itself on the other side of the Bay at Uptown's The Hive, dishing up scoops of its famed Secret Breakfast (bourbon and cornflake), dirty chai, and malted milk chocolate. In addition to pints, you can order up a "Netflix and Chill" pack of three pints, a jar of bourbon caramel, and a packet of sweet and salty cornflake crunch to top it all off. Their popular frosted peanuts and Fernet fudge sauce are also available by the jar.
Endless Summer Sweets
2370 Shattuck Ave.
While it's technically located over the Berkeley border, Endless Summer will happily cart its hot and crispy funnel cakes, topped with cinnamon apples, fresh strawberries, or caramelized bananas, to your Oakland doorstep. Other sweet treats on the menu include Mexican hot chocolate with homemade whipped cream, root beer floats with french vanilla ice cream, and cotton candy—your choice of pink or blue.
Gregory's Gourmet Desserts
285 23rd St.
This bakery tucked inside Uptown's Alamar is a cult secret among many Oaklanders, who line up for a taste of Gregory's acclaimed cheesecakes, in flavors like cookies 'n cream, chocolate Kahlua, and "Ugly Duckling," a lemon-accented take on creme brulee. Baker Gregory Williams also puts out a few other select sweet treats, like key lime pie, chocolate chip cookies, and peach cobbler. Everything's available by the slice, so you can mix and match to your heart's content.
Little Giant Ice Cream
1951 Telegraph Ave.
This small-but-mighty creamery has made a giant splash in Uptown, thanks to flavors like creamy buttermilk cherry cheesecake, sweet-and-spicy Mexican rocky road, and the addictive "Dirty South" (caramel, candied pecans, whiskey caramel swirl). It's also something of a bakery, offering a small selection of brownies, rainbow sprinkle cookies, and snacks like milk chocolate-pretzel-popcorn bark and white chocolate-Captain Crunch bark. Complete your ice cream order with some handmade cones and chocolate sauce.
