A new but familiar grocery store has opened its doors in the neighborhood: Trader Joe's. The newcomer to the Union Market shopping complex is located at 350 Florida Ave. NE. (between N. 3rd St. & N. N St).

Known for its vast array of high-quality frozen products, Trader Joe's has an extensive and growing fan base, with "loyalty bordering on zealotry" as the Washington Post covers today.

Originating in the 1950's under the name Pronto Markets, the grocery store chain has only become bigger and more popular throughout the years, placing a significant emphasis on value with great food and great prices to boot.

The new location has already tapped into the fan base, with a five-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp.

Alex S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on April 2, said: "SO stoked about this new TJs in NoMa. It's large, open, and fully stocked with both quality products and beyond-helpful staff."

Yelper Henrike N. added: “If you love Trader Joe's (which I do) you're in for a treat. This store is big and bright, filled to the rim with all of my favorite products. Parking spots are big which is rare for a TJs. Kids get a lot of love. I could go on and on, but this new TJs is a dream come true.”

And Molly M. said: "The Trader Joe's at Union Market finally opened! It's a large store with plenty of natural sunlight from the big windows and sunken interior.  There's an extensive selection and I was easily able to find all of my TJ faves - veggie meatballs and zucchini noodles! The produce section was huge and everything seemed fresh. The staff were super friendly, as can be expected! "

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Trader Joe's is open from 8 a.m.–9 p.m. daily.
