Metropolitan Police Department detectives are actively piecing together the circumstances of the fatal incident that shattered the relative calm at the 10th and Spring Road intersection.

Police officers were summoned to the scene after reports of gunshots at about 12:08 a.m. An adult male victim, riddled with bullets, was declared dead on the scene despite emergency efforts to revive him. The urgent call to the area also led to the discovery of two others, an adult female and a teenage male, both of whom were found wounded by gunfire, tending to their respective injuries after being taken to local hospitals, according to MPD's press release.

No arrests have been made as of yet, and the investigation continues, conducted by the Homicide Branch of the Metropolitan Police Department. The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
