Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top Spanish restaurants around Pittsburgh, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to fill the bill.

1. Morcilla

Topping the list is Morcilla. Located at 3519 Butler St. in Lawrenceville, it's the highest rated Spanish restaurant in Pittsburgh, boasting 4.5 stars out of 224 reviews on Yelp.

The restaurant comes courtesy of chef Justin Severino and is only a few blocks away from his Mediterranean restaurant, Cure. Morcilla serves up small plates as well as family-style fare like whole roasted trout, cider-braised chicken and roasted pork shank. 

2. Mallorca Restaurant

Next up is Mallorca Restaurant, situated at 2228 E. Carson St. on the South Side. With four stars out of 236 reviews on Yelp, the Spanish and Portuguese spot, offering seafood and more, has proven to be a local favorite.

"Mallorca is like a trip to Spain without the airfare," the 25-year-old establishment says on its website. The bill of fare boasts more than 300 wines, wild boar, osso buco, traditional and vegetarian paella and more.

3. Pallantia Tapas de España

Pallantia Tapas de España is another top choice. Located in Shadyside at 810 Ivy St., Yelpers are giving the Spanish restaurant four stars out of 99 reviews.

Executive culinary consultant Juan Gonzalez imports key ingredients from Spain and combines them with local products to create a rotating menu that frequently changes, the restaurant explains on its websiteThe spot primarily serves small plates featuring an assortment of Iberian ham, sausage and different cheeses, as well as tapas and larger plates for sharing.
