Craving pizza? You're in luck: a new eatery has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The new addition to the South Side, called Fat Angelo's Pizzeria, is located at 511 E. Carson St.

Fat Angelo's is a family-owned joint with several area locations. It serves more than 35 types of hoagies, from the simple BLT to one with sirloin steak, pepperoni, Italian sausage, melted mozzarella and provolone cheeses, sweet peppers and the house red sauce. There are also nearly 30 specialty pizzas, including thick-crust square-cut options, plus calzones, wings, baked pasta and salads.

Stop by to check out the new pizzeria, or stay at home — Fat Angelo's delivers.

With a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, the newcomer has been warmly received by patrons.

Yelper Curtis H. wrote, “Great tasting pizza. Love the cheese. Good sauce. Fresh toppings. Crust is thick and airy, not hard. My only complaint is it needed more sauce on it.”

And Patrick L. added, "I ordered the Sicilian-style square-cut pizza and it was exactly what I was hoping for. I enjoyed everything about it. Would definitely recommend."
