Japanese-inspired restaurant Adachi has recently opened at 325 S. Old Woodward. The space is divided into a main dining room, cocktail lounge and sushi bar.

James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Schlow presents small plates like king salmon with soy, ginger and wasabi; rock shrimp tempura with yuzu chili aioli; and beef tartare with pickled mushrooms and shrimp crackers. An assortment of fresh fish, vegetarian sushi rolls, salads and yakitori skewers are also on offer.

Stroll past 126 S. Old Woodward Ave. and you'll find Kaku Sushi & Poké. Yelpers are fans of the new fast-casual eatery, giving the establishment five stars out of eight reviews so far. It has another outpost in Bloomfield Hills.

As we previously reported, this joint invites patrons to build their own sushi rolls and poke bowls, or choose from menu items like ahi tuna with arugula sprouts, scallions, hijiki and crispy garlic; shrimp and bay scallops with sesame seeds, nori seaweed and masago; and marinated tofu salads with quinoa, cucumber, edamame and soy vinaigrette.

Grabbagreen

Last but not least is Grabbagreen, the first Michigan outpost for the health-focused national chain that offers fresh-pressed juices, smoothies and made-to-order bowls and wraps. It's located at 167 N. Old Woodward Ave.

Create your own custom bowl or choose from pre-made options like the Patagonia, made with black beans, corn, red onions, steak, quinoa and chimichurri sauce; the Southwest, filled with avocado, chicken, cilantro, cheddar and agave barbecue sauce; and the Tokyo Bay, made from carrots, cucumber, salmon, brown rice and ginger sauce.
