Erizo brings seafood and more to BuckmanPhoto: Huy H./Yelp

A new wine bar, offering seafood and more, has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 215 S.E. Ninth Ave. in Buckman, the fresh addition is called Erizo.

Try out the 20-course tasting menu featuring locally-sourced seafood. Guests can also add wine pairings and caviar service to the dining experience. The seafood includes seasonal finfish and hand dived shellfish, hand-selected by the chefs each week.

With a five-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp so far, Erizo seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

A. S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 25, wrote, "This is the best restaurant I have ever been to, and I've been lucky to dine at many fine restaurants. It's spectacular — from the complex and exquisite tastes to the fantastic service to the chefs' philosophy. The chefs care about sourcing all ingredients — seafood and vegetables, for example, from local, sustainable sources. They are masters of their craft and create dishes not found anywhere else. We especially liked the smoked wolf eel toast, sea urchin tostada, smoked trout roe pie, Pacific octopus, volunteer cabbage, kohlrabi, halibut, dairy-free chocolate mousse and kelp ice cream."

Yelper Kimberly D. added, “This is one of the most spectacular dining experiences I have ever had. The meal was prepared so thoughtfully and with such love and care for the product and the environment it comes in.”

Erizo is now open at 215 S.E. Ninth Ave., so head on over to check it out.
