Casteel overwhelmed by Empire
The Empire Ravens beat Queen Creek's Casteel Colts 10-6 at home on Tuesday. The Ravens and the Colts each had 11 hits respectively. Empire hit two home runs, bringing their season total to 19. The Colts also jacked one home run. The win brought Empire's record to 29-2, while Casteel's record fell to 22-6.
Mingus scores nine runs, trounces Sahuaro
Also on Tuesday, the Cottonwood Mingus Marauders defeated the visiting Sahuaro Cougars by a score of 9-1. The Marauders notched 14 hits, while the Cougars reached base safely four times. Cottonwood Mingus hit two home runs, adding to their total of 43 this year. The win brought the Marauders' record to 25-7-1, while the Cougars' record fell to 8-15.
Empire conquers Ironwood Ridge
Thursday brought a new round of high school contests, with the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks hosting the Empire Ravens. The Ravens blew the Nighthawks out of the park in a resounding 8-2 success. Empire hit two home runs. The loss brought Ironwood Ridge's record to 22-6, while Empire's record rose to 30-2.
