The Mesa City Council is scheduled to meet on Sept. 23. We've examined the session agenda to bring you this report of the issues that are scheduled for discussion and voting.

A major item on the agenda is the purchase of 20 Chevrolet Tahoes for the Police Department from an existing contract with Midway Chevrolet, at a combined total not to exceed $1,165,519.

The City Council is also scheduled to review a contract with Hoffman Southwest Corp. dba Professional Pipe Services (Pro-Pipe) for sewer, manhole, siphon cleaning, video and repair services for the Water Resources Department for three years with two years of renewal options, at $600,000 annually.

According to the agenda, members will also consider raising the dollar limit for contracts with CDW Government LLC and SHI International Corp. for information technology solutions and services to various city departments, from $3.1 million to $6 million annually for contract years two through five.

Other agenda items include:

  • Renewing a contract with OLS Restoration Inc. for streetlight pole painting services for the Transportation Department for one year, at $80,000.
  • Raising the dollar limit for a term contract with Metro Fire Equipment Inc. for fire protection equipment maintenance and repair services for the Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Department, from $276,700 to $356,700.
