New England Welcomes Its First Margaritaville Resort with $30M Upgrade on Cape CodSource: Margaritaville Resort

The Cape Cod landscape is set to embrace an island vibe as the current Cape Codder Resort & Spa transforms into the Margaritaville Resort Cape Cod following a sizable $30 million facelift. This will mark New England's first foray into the laid-back world of Margaritaville resorts, a chain inspired by the late Jimmy Buffett—a titan of chill who passed last September at age 76.

Lodgers looking forward to their stay at the Cape need not worry about their bookings. The resort's management has made it clear that reservations under the Cape Codder will be honored with no additional effort required from guests. Details were shared in a Facebook post from the resort’s page, assuring that "if you have an existing reservation for the Cape Codder, it WILL be honored when we rebrand,” adding a warm "See you soon!"

Slated to open this summer, vacationers can expect an array of amenities designed to whisk them away to a perpetual holiday state of mind. The resort features 272-room accommodations, all meticulously redesigned to channel the casual elegance of the Margaritaville brand. The allure is amplified by Margaritaville-themed eateries like LandShark Bar & Grill and 5 o'Clock Somewhere Bar. A full-service spa and fitness center are also on the docket, along with the Fins Up! Indoor Water Park and plenty more to ensure guests of all ages find their slice of paradise, as per CBS Boston's coverage.

In honor of Buffett's enduring legacy, the resort is poised to capture the distinctive spirit of Cape Cod melded with the tropical tranquility synonymous of Margaritaville aesthetics, as Rick Cunningham, senior vice president of development at Margaritaville, told Boston.com. "Cape Cod is a place with so much history, charm, and personality – it’s the perfect location for our first New England lodging destination," Cunningham expressed.

While the Margaritaville brand has always been associated with Buffett's laid-back, tropical escapism, Plymouth-based Linchris, the hospitality management company steering this rebrand, reassures that the family-first ethos will remain intact. Speaking to WCVB, Greg Nawrocki, Linchris' corporate director of online marketing, emphasized, "Margaritaville is a casual luxury brand. So it is not this party-hard, drinking type crowd, which I know is a big concern but that is not it." The commitment to a serene, inclusive resort experience is clear as Margaritaville edges closer to inviting guests to its breezy retreat on the Cape.
