A Fort Worth man has been hospitalized after being shot by his cousin early Saturday morning in what police describe as a domestic incident gone awry. According to a report from NBC DFW, officers from the Fort Worth Police Department were dispatched to the 2500 block of Malvern Trail shortly after 4 a.m. following a reported shooting.

The authorities say that a cousin to the homeowner, attempting to gain entry to the house via the back door, was met by gunfire that cut through the night and the door alike. The homeowner unleashed several rounds, striking the man at least once in the leg.
