Seattle Krispy Kreme Evacuated After Drug Use in Restroom, Woman with Outstanding Warrant ArrestedSource: Google Street View

A Seattle Krispy Kreme doughnut shop was the scene of a drug-related evacuation Sunday when two individuals smoked drugs in a bathroom, leading to fumes that cleared out the establishment. According to a KIRO 7 report, employees alerted police after people were found smoking in a bathroom for around 40 minutes. A 28-year-old woman, identified by police at a nearby bus stop and having an outstanding warrant, claimed she was assaulted. Fire department personnel treated her and listed her condition as stable.

Patrons of the Krispy Kreme on Aurora Avenue North and North 125th Street were evacuated due to narcotics fumes, as iHeart's JackSeattle reports. When workers entered the bathroom, one of the suspects, a woman who had faucets running, became confrontational and purportedly claimed she had a weapon before police arrested her on a warrant.

The fire department responded along with police to the drug-related incident, and as of now, no word on potential arrests or charges have been disclosed since Tuesday, February 20. Employees at the Krispy Kreme had previously voiced their suspicion something was amiss in the bathroom due to the prolonged occupancy and running faucet.

"You could smell it, as soon as I walked over there and the door was open, there was this overbearing smell that came through my nostrils, and I knew something was wrong," Solomon Keen, an employee at the Seattle Krispy Kreme, told KOMO News.

According to KIRO 7, the business's restrooms, which are normally keypad-protected, were compromised by a key theft, complicating security measures.

Police have not released details concerning the second suspect involved in the incident, while the affected business and surrounding area grapple with the ongoing issue of drug use impacting customers' sense of safety and overall business operations.
