Residents in South San José and the greater South County are set to receive a major boost in healthcare access as Santa Clara Valley Healthcare rolls out its new Valley Health Center clinic, VHC Morgan Hill. Kicking off full-time ops on March 18, this hub, previously known as De Paul Health Center, is ready to cater to a wide slice of the community's medical needs.

Sylvia Arenas, County of Santa Clara Supervisor, highlighted the sentiment in a statement to Santa Clara County Newsroom, "The opening of VHC Morgan Hill is a remarkable milestone in the work Santa Clara County is doing to ensure quality health care for everyone – including those in South County and the 120,000 county residents who will most directly benefit." The establishment will strive not just to serve all, but to significantly bolster the health care avenues for the area’s more vulnerable populations.

With a menu of services that range from Primary Care and General Surgery to GI Specialty and beyond, the center is slated to eagerly fulfill the medical demands of up to 15,000 individuals annually. Greta Hansen, Chief Operating Officer for the County of Santa Clara, acclaimed the addition by stating, "The opening of VHC Morgan Hill, combined with St. Louise Regional Hospital and our VHC Gilroy Clinic, provides a wide range of health care options for those living in South County and the surrounding areas."

The facility's arsenal will continue to expand, with future services pegged to incorporate pediatrics, OBGYN, orthopedics, among other specialties. The healthcare compound, which the county clinched five years ago during a crisis that almost saw it shutter its doors for good, now stands as a testament to the county's commitment to universally serve and safeguard the wellness of its population. Santa Clara Valley Healthcare’s CEO, Paul E. Lorenz, recognized this significant investment, "Purchasing this property was just the first step in bringing us to the opening of VHC Morgan Hill. The subsequent capital investment, along with the hiring of doctors, nurses, and staff, is a direct result of the actions from our Board of Supervisors."

Clinic hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but for those in need of urgent care or pharmacy services, the doors remain open until 10 p.m. on weekdays, and retain availability from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
