Moreover, traffic fines in work zones can soar up to $2,000 when workers are present, and the state's Move Over/Slow Down law requires drivers to, whenever possible, shift over a lane or decrease their speed by 20 mph below the limit around stopped emergency vehicles with flashing lights.
