Memphis drivers, take note – there's a big change coming to your commute. Starting this Saturday, Riverside Drive will be shutting down for over a month. The closure, announced by the City of Memphis, is to accommodate the Memphis In May events, and will last from April 20th to May 24th, impacting the stretch between Georgia Ave and Union Avenue.

In response to the upcoming disruption, a detour has been put in place. According to the city's announcement, northbound drivers will be rerouted using Carolina Avenue, Third Street, and Jefferson Avenue. Conversely, southbound traffic will be directed to utilize Jefferson Avenue, Second Street, and Carolina Avenue. Given the length and breadth of this closure, commuters driving through these sections of Riverside Drive are suggested to find an alternate route.
