Earlier this morning, a San Antonio man took drastic action when he shot a suspect trying to enter his apartment. The incident occurred on the 8700 block of Marbach Road, where police arrived to the scene after reports of a shooting. The resident claimed the suspect attempted to breach the apartment through the back door, and after questioning the intruder's intentions, he fired his weapon, striking the suspect in the stomach, as reported by KENS 5.

The confrontation began when the resident heard someone tampering with the patio door, he confronted the would-be intruder asking, "what he was doing here," according to KSAT. The suspect declared that he lived there but then reportedly became aggressive, which led to the resident shooting him. The injuries sustained were non-life-threatening, and the individual was hospitalized.

Local authorities are still piecing together the details of the confrontation. While the man who fired the shot is not currently facing charges, the incident remains under investigation. It is unclear if the alleged intruder is a resident of the complex.
