Fort Worth Hosts 'Continuing the Climb' Re-entry Job and Resource Fair to Assist Formerly IncarceratedSource: City of Fort Worth, Texas

Fort Worth is gearing up to offer a helping hand to those looking to start afresh as the Continuing the Climb Re-entry Job and Resource Fair sets to open its doors to the public. In an effort focused on assisting adults returning home from incarceration, the fair is set for this Wednesday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Resource Connection Gym, 2300 Circle Drive. More than 70 employers will be there, ready to potentially hire hundreds of candidates, making it one of the largest job and resource fairs for individuals with challenging backgrounds in the city, according to the City of Fort Worth.

The event is organized by a coalition that includes the City of Fort Worth EnVision Center and the Fort Worth Municipal Court. This initiative is also backed by local organizations like Goodwill North Central Texas and Unlocking Doors, working to integrate resources and employment opportunities under one roof. The fair doesn't only aim to provide jobs but also to primarily offer numerous resources such as interview coaching and resume writing assistance. Additionally, the fair will feature emergency services, housing support, legal and health services, and other vital assistance.

As per the City of Fort Worth, Suzanne Richards, the EnVision Center coordinator, highlighted the significance of the event: "The focus of the Continuing the Climb Re-entry Job and Resource Fair is to improve the economic outlook of individuals with challenged backgrounds by bringing resources, employment and support to one location."

One notable feature of the fair is the 'Court in the Community' program that the Fort Worth Municipal Court will facilitate. Individuals with outstanding Class C warrants will be given the chance to resolve their cases on-site. This move is aimed at quickly helping people clear their records without the fear of arrest, a crucial step toward full reintegration. People can preregister to take advantage of these alternatives, which include community service or reduced fines based on financial capability. Interested parties should call 817-392-6700 to register or learn more about the program.
