Authorities have apprehended a 20-year-old man named Isaac Dornell Pettway, slapping him with a murder charge for the April 28 shooting death of Tony Harrison on Beechnut Street, officials said. Harrison, 30, was gunned down around 8:55 p.m. at an apartment complex located at 10630 Beechnut Street, according to Houston police.

On the fatal evening, responding HPD officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics found Harrison unresponsive, his body riddled with several gunshot wounds. Despite efforts, paramedics declared him dead on the scene. An initial witness recounted a verbal clash that escalated; the suspect fetched a gun and shot Harrison multiple times amid a tussle, and then bolted off in a bid to escape justice.

The break in the case came after diligent police work, which resulted in the identification of Pettway as the prime suspect. The 208th State District Court has now served Pettway with a murder indictment, persistent detectives have testified.

On May 20, law enforcement captured Pettway without any drama. He is now languishing behind bars in the Harris County Jail, awaiting his day in court.
