Chaos erupted on the streets of Long Beach as gunfire shattered the night in two separate incidents, testing the mettle of local law enforcement. Officers plunged into action Monday night after a shooting unfurled right before their eyes on Long Beach Boulevard, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The first shooting happened on May 19, around 9:30 p.m., where a 22-year-old man was critically injured but remains in stable condition. The alleged shooter, Kileo Taylor-Morrison, surrendered at the scene. Taylor-Morrison, a 22-year-old Bell resident, was arrested and slapped with a $2 million bail for attempted murder, as reported by the Long Beach Police Department.

Shortly after, a second incident unfolded in the Cedar Avenue area near Plymouth Street, although this time, thankfully, no victims were found. Officers responding to an 11:30 p.m. call discovered proof of gunplay, but the shooter or shooters had fled, leaving behind only the echo of violence and unanswered questions. The motive behind this aggression remains unclear as the Long Beach PD pursues its investigation.

The investigation for the second incident continues, with neither injuries nor suspects, the Long Beach PD confirms that both episodes' inquiries remain in full swing.
