A spate of robberies in San Antonio came to a halt when police arrested 28-year-old Gabriela Ramirez, the woman accused of using a metal paint scraper to threaten and rob local cashiers. According to FOX San Antonio, the most recent incident occurred at a QuikTrip gas station on May 22 when Ramirez allegedly held the sharp tool to the neck of an employee attempting to repair a gas pump, demanding access to the cash register.

While one employee stood frozen with a metallic edge pressed to her skin, another acquiesced to Ramirez's demands to quickly open the registers. Police say Ramirez managed to escape with $160 in cash and $40 worth of cigarettes, fleeing in a distinctive black pick-up truck that lacked license plates. It was a vehicle that was later traced back to Ramirez herself, in an investigation that rapidly pieced together her alleged trail of threats and theft.

Efforts to locate Ramirez post-haste paid off when she was reportedly caught aiming to rob another gas station. Before this arrest, Ramirez was also implicated in a similar robbery at a nearby 7/11, as KSAT covered. During her alleged crime spree, authorities report that Ramirez used intimidation tactics, with one cashier recalling Ramirez’s chilling words: "Please don’t come after me; if you come after me, I’ll f****** kill you."

In the wake of these events, the San Antonio Police Department took Ramirez into custody, where she faces harsh scrutiny for a string of aggravated robbery charges. According to court records, she's currently held in Bexar County Jail on a $75,000 bond. This chain of robberies underscores a narrative all too common in the city's struggle with local crime—where desperation or brazenness drive individuals to brazenly take what is not theirs, employing threats to forge a path of fear and loss in their wake.
