Yesterday morning in Windsor, a black SUV barreled into a business complex at 380 Windsor River Road. Local police responded to the crash site around 9:32 am, finding the vehicle lodged in the facade of a two-story business tri-plex.

The situation escalated when authorities were tipped off by a bystander, who directed them to 36-year-old Jeffrey Allen Kent, perched on a bench near the disaster site, Windsor PD reported on their Facebook page. The Windsor resident readily admitted to being the SUV driver behind the wheel. This confession preceded a fortunate discovery: none of the individuals inside the building were harmed at the time of impact.

However, the scene took a turn when Kent, in his exchange with the deputies, exhibited unmistakable signs of intoxication. A subsequent DUI investigation led to Kent's arrest after he blew an egregious 0.347% BAC, more than quadruple the legal limit, the Facebook post detailed.

Beneath the veneer of this morning's havoc lay a deeper thread of recklessness: Kent was on probation for a previous DUI. Following the investigation, he was booked on multiple charges, including driving under the influence, violation of probation, and contravention of the ignition interlock device mandate

Jeffrey Allen Kent now faces a sobering reality as he sits behind bars, contemplating charges that include 23152 (a) CVC - driving while under the influence of alcohol, 23152 (b) CVC - driving with a BAC greater than 0.08%, 1203.2 PC - violation of probation, and 23247(e) CVC - ignition interlock device violation, according to the police department's social media update.
