In a distressing incident from Morrison County, a young child was severely injured in a lawnmower accident. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on June 24, around 12:44 pm, a 27-year-old woman from Cushing, MN was backing up a riding lawnmower at a residence on 260th Street west of Cushing, MN when she accidentally ran over the foot of a six-year-old boy. The child suffered a severe foot injury, necessitating an airlift to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN for emergency treatment.

The child, whose identity has not been disclosed, was immediately taken to the hospital by Life Link III after the accident. Randall Fire and Rescue alongside Mayo Clinic Ambulance were also present at the scene to assist. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office swiftly responded to the call to ensure the well-being of all involved and to quickly move to fully understand what occurred.

As per the official statement from the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, the lawnmower's power take-off (PTO) was engaged during the accident. While the full extent of the boy's injuries remains unknown, severe foot trauma in such cases often necessitates extensive medical intervention, possibly including surgery and rehabilitation.
