Allen residents mark your calendars for a notable community event. On Saturday, June 22 the groundbreaking ceremony for the long-awaited expansion of the Allen Public Library is set to take place. The expansion has been in the pipeline since voters gave it the nod through the 2016 General Obligation Bond Election.

The City Council took a consequential step in April 2022 by authorizing the sale of bonds to fund the library's expansion. According to the City of Allen, a contract was approved with Fransen Pittman Construction this past May.
