Boston Man, Kamari Miller, Arrested for Unlawful Firearm and Drugs Possession in RoxburySource: Boston Police Department

Early yesterday morning, Boston Police apprehended 25-year-old Kamari Miller on multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm and drugs, following a shot spotter detection in Roxbury. The Boston Police Department reported that at around 2:30 AM, officers from District B-2 responded to the incident near Weaver Court and Weaver Way, which subsequently led them to an individual later identified as Miller.

After two black SUVs were spotted fleeing towards Columbus Avenue, officers observed one vehicle parked on Academy Road and approached an individual moving away from the scene. According to the Boston Police report, Miller was found holding a bucket hat with a concealed item. Upon noticing the police presence, he altered his path and walked towards them. Police actions escalated with the activation of emergency lights and sirens, prompting the suspect to reverse direction once more.

The ensuing pat frisk of Miller led to the discovery of a 'ghost gun'—an untraceable firearm with one chambered round and additional ammunition—concealed within the rolled-up hat. Authorities further uncovered various narcotics, including a bag of fentanyl, two bags of crack cocaine, and pills of gabapentin.

Miller now faces charges related to unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and intent to distribute controlled substances. He is scheduled for arraignment in Roxbury District Court. This arrest highlights the issue of 'ghost guns' contributing to the spread of unregulated firearms in urban areas. Additionally, the narcotics discovered indicate ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the Boston area.
