Boston Police Arrest Two and Seize Loaded Firearm in Traffic Stop in DorchesterSource: Boston Police Department

Two individuals were placed under arrest, and a large capacity firearm was seized during a traffic stop in Dorchester. The Boston Police Department reported that the incident occurred at approximately 4:40 PM on Thursday, June 13th, at the junction of Blue Hill Ave and Paxton St.

Officers from District B-3 (Mattapan/Dorchester) initiated the stop after noticing a Toyota Corolla with what was described as "very dark aftermarket window tints." Upon approaching the stopped vehicle, officers encountered driver Quiana Bradley-Smith and her passenger, Kyle Lee. According to the Boston Police Department, the interaction with Bradley-Smith revealed that her driving license had been suspended.

During the stop, officers observed behavior from Lee suggestive that he might be carrying a weapon. A subsequent search led to the discovery of a knife on Lee’s person and a Glock 29 Gen 4 10mm auto underneath the front passenger seat, as detailed by the Boston Police. The weapon was confiscated, found to be loaded with one chambered round and fifteen rounds in the magazine.

As a result of these findings, Bradley-Smith was taken into custody and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, and received a citation for the nontransparent window obstruction. Lee faces several charges, including Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, and others related to ammunition possession and previous offenses. The Boston Police statement highlighted that he has two prior violent and/or drug crime offenses and also resisted arrest during the incident.

Both suspects are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court in connection to the charges.
