A fire erupted at Silver Oaks Apartments in Clarkston, displacing residents and causing significant damage. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the blaze began around 2 p.m. on Tuesday and resulted in the temporary displacement of 16 families. DeKalb County Fire Rescue reported flames bursting through the building's roof upon arrival at the scene.

The fire, devastating several units of the apartment complex located on Brockett Road, attracted the attention of emergency crews who extinguished the flames. As a spokesperson for the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department stated, crews managed to save most of the building. With the roof of the burning structure collapsing, captured on video by First Alert Chopper, the fire inflicted damage on 10 apartment units. Knocking on each other's doors, residents worked together to ensure all occupants were alerted and able to evacuate safely, as told to Atlanta News First by Gerald Perdue, one of the residents who woke up frantic due to the heavy smoke infiltrating his apartment.

Fortuitously, there were no reported injuries as a result of the fire. DeKalb County Fire Rescue has yet to confirm the fire's cause, with investigators being dispatched to the wreckage to conduct their inquiries.
