Dollywood has topped Tripadvisor's list as the number one theme park in the United States for 2024, knocking out famed Disney parks from their long-held pedestals. The Pigeon Forge gem claimed the national title and shined on the world stage, securing the tenth spot in the global rankings. This recognition comes as part of the eminent Travelers' Choice Best of the Best Awards, which takes into account a year's worth of traveler reviews and ratings on Tripadvisor.

According to a report by WVLT, the award period spanned from April 1, 2023, through March 31, and Dollywood's standing as the only North American park on the international list is a first. Dolly Parton expressed her elated reaction to the news, "I'm so thrilled about what our guests say about what we're doing at Dollywood," noting the park's dedication to hospitality and the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains.

The competition was stiff, with Dollywood leaving behind other major contenders like Disney's Magic Kingdom in Florida, which took the second spot nationally. As highlighted by WAAYTV, other theme parks that made the cut for the United States top 10 included the likes of Fun Spot America in Kissimmee and Orlando, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Legoland California.

While the accolades could be seen as just another feather in its cap, those at Dollywood insist the wins are never about the awards, but the experience they provide. Eugene Naughton, Dollywood President said, as per Knox News, “We don’t do what we do to win awards; we do it because we want to provide the best guest experience in the country.” This sentiment is echoed by Parton's earlier statement about the park's commitment to creating a warm, family-friendly environment.
