Four Suspects Arrested for Organized Retail Theft at Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo CountySource: San Bruno Police Department

Authorities in San Mateo County arrested four individuals connected to a brazen midday theft at a Lululemon store within the Hillsdale Shopping Center last Thursday, according to a statement by the San Mateo Police Department. Suspects allegedly made off with nearly $10,000 worth of merchandise before fleeing in a stolen white Subaru Outback toward Highway 101.

An update by the San Bruno Police Department detailed the chase that ensued, noting how the vehicle was spotted traveling northbound through San Bruno. Officers chose not to pursue further when the suspects began to drive in a dangerously reckless manner. The decision was made, citing potential risks to public safety posed by a high-speed chase through populated areas.

The Subaru was later found abandoned in San Francisco, and all four suspects were eventually detained with support from the San Francisco Police Department. The culprits were discovered attempting to offload the stolen goods in the city's Tenderloin District. Alongside the recovered merchandise, authorities confirmed that the vehicle used in the theft had been reported stolen earlier that day. Notably, the rapid response and collaboration of the joint task force played a pivotal role in apprehending the suspects and recovering the stolen items and vehicle.

The suspects—identified as Jesus Olivarez from Antioch, alongside San Francisco residents Theodore Gore, Sierra Mansanares, and Camy Massutti—face a range of felony charges related to organized retail theft, grand theft, burglary, and possession of a stolen vehicle. Specific charges, such as evading a peace officer with disregard for public safety and possession of a controlled substance, were filed against individual suspects.

The Organized Retail Theft Task Force, constituted of several local departments, remains committed to tackling retail crimes and assures continued partnership with retailers to safeguard community commercial interests.
