In a persistent crackdown against reckless driving and sideshows in the Antioch area, Oakley Police Department took decisive action when Officer F. Williams spotted an Infiniti involved in what reads like a dramatic high-speed chase earlier this month. The vehicle, alongside an Audi acting as a compatriot, fled from the attempted enforcement stop initiated by Officer Williams, an endeavor that ended with the Infiniti escaping at alarming speeds and running through a series of stop lights before the pursuit was ultimately called off due to safety concerns, according to the City of Oakley.

Following the heated encounter, the officer initiated an investigation that linked the Infiniti to past sideshow activities endangering the streets of Antioch, which, in the eyes of the law, presented a significant public safety issue and merited the impoundment of the troublemaking vehicle. Williams wrote an "impound warrant" for the car, underscoring the Oakley Police Department's commitment to laying down the law on vehicles utilized for dangerous escapades, and after some diligent sleuthing, the vehicle was found and seized on June 19 at a 7-11 store.

This action spoke volumes of the department's tenacity, a sentiment voiced by Oakley Police Chief Paul Beard in a statement applauding Officer Williams' dogged pursuit of automotive offenders, "I appreciate the interest Officer Williams has in vehicles that are being used for nefarious purposes.
