A man was taken into custody following a prolonged SWAT standoff that spanned six hours in Poway, according to a recent report. The intense situation unfolded on the 13000 block of York Avenue yesterday, where deputies were called to a violent confrontation involving a box cutter.

The incident, which began around 1:30 p.m., involved a man who notified the authorities that his roommate had attacked him, causing noticeable abrasions. When reaching the scene, Poway Sheriff's deputies endeavored to resolve the tense scenario peacefully. They continuously attempted to engage with the suspect, urging him to surrender willfully, but their efforts were initially met with refusal.

As the standoff continued, aerial support was provided by the Sheriff's helicopter unit ASTREA. At the same time, the Sheriff's Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), the Special Enforcement Detail (SED/SWAT), and Deputy K-9 Handlers were dispatched to the location. 

The standoff concluded just after 8:00 p.m., culminating in the arrest of the suspect, Travis Bradley Miller, born May 6, 1992. According to the San Diego Sheriff's Department, Miller is set to be booked at San Diego Central Jail. He faces felony charges, which include assault with a deadly weapon and violating the terms of his probation.
