While engaged in the battle against the encroaching flames, the firefighters managed to stop the forward progress of the fire – yet not before it expanded to cover approximately 30 acres. No structures were harmed during this incident, and, fortunately, no injuries were reported. The SJFD confirmed that over 40 firefighters conducted mop-up operations on the scene. Even with the progress halted, the SJFD continues to urge the public to avoid the impacted area for safety and to facilitate the ongoing firefighting efforts.
According to NBC Bay Area, the fire instigated partial road closings around Curtner Avenue and Communications Hill Boulevard. Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes as the emergency response vehicles needed unobstructed access to the rapidly changing scene.
