San José authorities have reported the arrest of a suspect in connection to a shooting that is believed to be gang-related. Salvador Rodriguez, a 29-year-old San José resident, is now facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon and shooting into an occupied vehicle, as reported by the San José Police Department.

The incident took place on the evening of March 29, when the unnamed male victim and his wife were fired upon while in their car on McLaughlin Avenue. The victim was hit by gunfire but managed to self-transport to receive medical attention for injuries declared non-life-threatening. The ensuing investigation by the San José Police Department Gang Investigations Unit (GIU) led to the identification of Rodriguez as the suspect.

Rodriguez was apprehended last Thursday by the SJPD Covert Response Unit with the help of GIU Detectives. Following the arrest, he was booked into Santa Clara County Jail, as confirmed by the San José Police Department. The San José Police Department continues to seek information from the public, urging anyone who can help in the ongoing investigation or related cases to step forward.
