In a somber turn of events, a high-speed crash claimed the life of a young woman in Buckeye, Arizona. The Buckeye Police Department reported that, at around 10:15 p.m. yesterday, an officer noticed a black Dodge Challenger run a stop sign at the intersection of Verrado and Sunrise. After failing to stop the vehicle, which subsequently sped away, a pursuit ensued briefly before the officer lost sight and ceased following with emergency lights activated.

According to an official statement from the Buckeye Police Department, officers remained vigilant in the vicinity and were later tipped off by a civilian that the same car was seen driving erratically without headlights on Verrado, heading southbound near Indian School Rd. Tragically, the car was eventually discovered having collided with a tree on Verrado Way near Sunrise.

The accident, which occurred late last night, resulted in tragic casualties. Police confirmed that the high-speed crash left an 18-year-old female passenger, Yaritza Vasquez, dead at the scene. The 18-year-old male driver, along with a 15-year-old male passenger, were transported to the hospital bearing non-life-threatening injuries.
