The suspect, 27-year-old Cotati resident Gabriel Burgess, has been placed in custody after being apprehended by the Santa Rosa Police Department on Thursday. Detectives believed that the shooting was conducted in a vehicle near the intersection of Russell Avenue and Cleveland Avenue. Their pursuit bore fruit, as it led them to Burgess, who was swiftly arrested during a traffic enforcement stop in Petaluma. Authorities then administered search warrants at two addresses connected to the suspect.
